Things Are Looking Up

Yesterday we had a bit of a warm up in the weather department, got to the mid 40's.  It's sad when that feels like a heat wave.  The clocks were set to an hour ahead. I love that it is staying lighter longer.  Can Spring be far behind? I took some pictures because there's not much else to do right now around the farm. Gunnar is growing, he's now four months old and forty pounds.  He's got a very curious personality, which does get him into trouble sometimes. But he's smart and is learning quickly where to go and what to do around the horses.

    Great pictures. I can't believe how big Gunnar is!! So cute. Jealous that you can see dirt and grass at your place!! We had a bit of a heat wave here, too; -4C. It was fantastic. Spring is around the corner!!!

      Hi Wolfie,
      I'm afraid that's not grass and dirt it's just old hay and some horse poop. The rest of the farm is still under snow. But it is starting to melt. Yeah!

    That Gunnar is positively adorable. We are not seeing any ground yet, but today we have just hit 40 degrees. Bring it on!

    Great little story there. At least you got some action shots. Everybody was just standing around here. I think the Boys are even more tired of this weather than I am.

    Gunner is still adorable and will stay that way no matter how big he gets.

      The herd seems to come to life when there are people close to a fence. My guess is they're looking for treats. I know they're as tired of this weather as we are. Gunnar is adorable and I think he has the personality of always being mischievous. That should keep everyone on their toes.

    It's always fun to see photos of your herd and my goodness what a cute pup! I admit I gasped when I saw the snow heaped against your barn. You have to be happy spring is on its way!!

      Having a puppy around again is a lot of fun. He's so sweet.

    Such wonderful pictures!!
    I noticed your fencing... is that pvc or metal? Very pretty &, I imagine, low to no maintenance?
    We have pole corrals and then smoothe wire around the pasture; every year I have to paint all the wooden bits with used oil (cheaper than pain & close to hand, turns out a nice black & horses don't ever chew on it too much.

      Hi,
      The fencing is pvc and easy to care for. The worst thing is how dirty it gets and it needs to be power washed every other year which is a big job. They have also broken some of the boards this year so they will need to be replaced. Other than that it's a decent fence material.

    Wow! That is a HUGE amount of snow!! You guys definitely deserve spring and the warmer temps. Love the photos of the herd, as always, but adore the ones with Gunnar, he is way too cute. And love the quote, very touching and beautiful.
