I’m Back!
Hi everyone! This is just a quick note to let you know I am home from the rehab facility. The surgery went well and the rehab is going to take some time. This Friday will mark the 3-week milestone since my knee surgery. According to all the specialists, after 4 weeks I will start to feel much better. The pain isn’t all that bad except during the actual exercises. Things are stiff and all that pushing and pulling isn’t much fun, but once it all loosens up, I’m sure I will be able to do more. I’ve graduated to walking with a cane and can even do the stairs. Driving my car is one of my biggest goals, since I don’t like relying on others to take me somewhere I need to be.
One of the upsides to all of this is that I have lost some weight. However, I don’t recommend the Total Knee Replacement Diet for everyone. The truth is I don’t know how it is even possible that my weight is down; I had plenty of saboteurs at work with an overabundance of ‘get well’ deliveries containing chocolate, cookies, etc… Of course, all donations were greatly appreciated and chocolate is an antioxidant right? Have to keep those nasty infections at bay.
I would like to thank all of you for the well wishes you have sent me. Your kind thoughts kept my spirits up and I greatly appreciate the caring you have all shown me (once again proving that horse people are the absolute best people on the planet!) Thank you all again.
Well enough about me! I have a lot of catching up to do in the ‘horsey’ blogosphere. Being away from the internet for so long should keep me busy for a while; I look forward to seeing what everyone was up to in the past two weeks.
Until next time
Quote for Today
There comes a point in every rider's life when he wonders if it's all worth it. Then one look at the horse, and he realizes - it is.
