Old People's Riding Club

Old Peoples Riding Club

" for the learning experience, the fun, the camaraderie; not the ribbon, or the glory, but for the memories ..."

While I was doing some research online, I came across a wonderful riding club that seems it might be just the ticket for some of our age group. The Old Peoples Riding Club, is a riding organization for the over 21 equestrian and for all disciplines. Riders into their 70’s and 80’s are members and I am sure if we were lucky enough to meet them, they would have a wealth of information for all of us. This club has many chapters throughout the United States. If there is not one in your area that is conveniently located, you can even start your own chapter.

Therefore, if you are already at ease with your riding abilities, and not interested in competing at shows this club might be a fun option. Regardless of whether your discipline is English or Western or perhaps you are a non-rider, such as a supportive spouse or someone who just loves to be around horses, they welcome everyone. I would suggest you check out their web site: www.oldpeoplesridingclub.org , and see if this sort of alternative is right for you. It is a very informative web site and easy to join.

For those of you that are already members, leave a comment and let us all know what you think of this club and how you are enjoying it.

Until next time
