It seems to me that these days the word "hero" is bandied about an awful lot to describe people who are basically just doing their job. But this teenage girl to my way of thinking is a true hero; she put her own life in danger to save twenty-five horses from a devastating stable fire. Sadly, sixteen didn't survive because she couldn't get to them. I wonder how many of us would have braved the fire to do she did.
