Caution: You might look like a "Despicable Me" minion! |
We’re
in for some very cold weather this week with the possibility of snow and definitely high
winds. The worst part of winter for me
is how early it gets dark. I find it difficult
to navigate the frozen moon craters in the paddocks or spot black ice. It’s impossible to carry a flashlight and
lead ropes if you’re as uncoordinated as I am.
So I bought this great hat that solves a lot of my ‘working in the dark’ problems and thought I’d share it with
you. Might make a special Christmas gift
for anyone who challenges the dark mornings and nights.
The
hat is called “ X CAP”. It gives 4 hours of light and can be
recharged directly on any USB port. The light in the front is simple to use you
just press it and there are three levels of light intensity. It can also be
washed, just make sure to read the directions. The hat comes in any color you
want as long as it’s gray. Or at least that was the only color choice when I
purchased it last year maybe they have more colors now. I believe I purchased it from this web site: https://www.thegrommet.com/x-cap
I
took a few pictures of the hat unlit and lit:
I think it's a great invention.
Try to stay warm!! That hat is so cool :D
ReplyDeleteThanks I will try. I don't mind the cold or snow it's the ice I can't deal with. I actually have ice grippers that fit on the bottom of my boots to keep me upright instead of looking like Bambi on ice!
DeleteThat is cool! I want one!!
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
DeleteI like it. I've been carrying both a flashlight and a remote to a floodlight each night. I have to put the flashlight in my mouth in order to open and close gates. I used to have a forehead light that came with and elastic strap that lost all of its elasticity. Maybe this cap would last longer.
ReplyDeleteI've had the hat for a year and it seems it should last for a while. It might be warm for you in AZ but it might come in handy instead of a flashlight in your mouth!
DeleteI love the hat!! So cute and functional too :) Hope it doesn't get too bad, but please take care and stay warm as you can.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy, I'll definitely be wearing my hat and gloves and scarf today it's freezing this morning.
DeleteWhat a great hat! And yes it is bitterly cold today.
ReplyDeleteIt must be even colder by you! Stay warm.
DeleteThe one I have is not rechargable, but still a great invention.
ReplyDeleteHave to laugh a bit here. A week or so ago, as I was driving along this very strange headlight configuration was approaching. There were these bobbing lights above and another set below. All I could see were the lights. It wasn't until they passed that I was able to make out two bicycle riders, side by side. Both had some kind of headlamps on their helmets and lights on their bikes. All you need for your nighttime ensemble is a waist belt light and you will be roadworthy.
Ha! That must have looked strange. They have more trust then I do of fellow motosts. I'd never ride out at night with a lot of drivers texting or talking on phones these days.
DeleteWhat a great find! Yep. We have had some FRIGID weather with high winds too. And tomorrow it is supposed to rain! Crazy! Today I wore long underwear for the first time. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteBut you got the snow first. Now tonight we get snow and then rain on Sunday. It is really cold out there today.
DeleteHoly balz, I'm going to that site & try to buy 5 lit up tuques right now. Thanks Grey Horse, this is going to help here immensely!
ReplyDeleteGlad it was helpful.
DeleteOh my goodness that hat is so awesome! And useful too :D
ReplyDeleteIt does help in the dark.
DeleteThis is freaking awesome
ReplyDeleteLOL - love the minion! Dear husband has one of those in navy and another one in eye-popping yellow. I'm the one who makes my way hand over hand one tiny step at a time in the pitch dark kind of barn gal, but since he has taken on the night duties for the most part he has the hats to light the way. :) I may have to try one of the hats and see what it's like to SEE! Thanks for the great tip.
ReplyDeleteBe adventurous and give it a try!
