Dusty’s A Winner

Dusty and I would like to thank our friends over at Calm,Forward, Straight for the contest they sponsored during the Olympics.  The entrants included either photos or videos for consideration.  When the day came to pick the winners Val, a very handsome grey thoroughbred, did the honors.  Dusty happened to get lucky on this one and was picked for third place by Val for her video Dusty vs. The Latch.  She would like to send a big thank you to Val and his mom.

If you’re not already a fan of Calm, Forward, Straight stop by and visit with Val and his partner.  They have many interesting adventures living on an island and training each other in dressage.

Until next time

  1. Yay! So happy for you both. I am already an avid follower of Calm Forward Straight and enjoy her blog very much. I also loved that post/video of yours. I can't believe I didn't comment when I saw it, shame on me! The background music is perfect.

    1. Hi Mary,

You probably did comment if you've seen it before. A while back I did something stupid with my computer and lost all my comments from a certain date backwards. Doh! Glad you enjoyed it.

    2. Ooops, Ok then, that makes me feel a little bit better. I'm sorry you may have lost some of your comments, that's the best part. Aggravating I'm sure.

Congratulations to Dusty on her victories - being picked by Val and defeating the latch. Calm Forward Straight is a blog I've been meaning to visit, I'll drop in now :-)

  3. Congrats to Dusty for a well deserved win! Hope she got some extra treats. But we all knew she is a blue ribbon horse!

    1. Thanks D.J! The main thing is Dusty always thinks she's a blue ribbon horse even though she got third place! She did get lots of treats this weekend as befits a princess.

    2. GHM -

Please tell Dusty that she did not get third place!

The contest was a three way tie - three winners. Val and I couldn't possibly choose one over another. (Well... Val would choose lovely Dusty over geldings if it was totally up to him.) ;D

Thanks for sharing Dusty's video - I feel for you having to keep up with her - she is way too clever!

  4. CFS,
Oops sorry, I didn't realize it was a three way tie. I thought since she was listed #3 she was third. My mistake. No wonder she thinks she's smarter than me. Oh, wait she is, she was preening knowing she came in first with the others. Thanks again to you for a fun contest and the prize. Tell Val there's a certain palomino mare who thinks he's very handsome.

  5. If it had been the photo alone, I would have said you were in "big time" lecture mode and Dusty was on the receiving end of a well-earned diatribe. *laugh* Congratulations you two!

    1. Jen,

I took a few pictures and this was the only one useable. At least she had her ears up and looked like she was paying attention to the "finger".

  6. Yaay Dusty! Not that your fan club had any doubts about your winning abilities ;o) I remember that video, and that's saying something with my sieve-brain! Obviously I only remember that which is worth remembering *lol* Great picture :D

    1. Thanks Joy. Actually, I think that's the only video of her I've ever put up. She's a character.

  7. The video is a hoot, but what I really love is this photo.

    1. She really is quite a character . I'm sure everyone has seen the video it was taken last year. Wonder why it's not working now? I'll have to check it out.
