|'June-2011' No wonder she hates me she's always wearing the dreaded muzzle!|
I’m happy to report that “Little Miss Heart Attack” seems to be doing fine. No worse for wear with those suspensories. I’ll be giving her off until Friday when I’ll lunge her to see how she looks and hopefully we’ll be able to take our maiden voyage ride on Saturday. That’s if she can manage to use her brain for a few more days and not act like she’s a runner up for the Kentucky Derby.
It always amazes me that these huge animals are so fragile and seem to be able to hurt themselves quite often. Someone recently said to me when I told them that she hurt her leg again and she wouldn’t be able to be ridden this week, “ Why don’t you just get another younger horse that isn’t injured all the time?” How do you explain to a non-horsey person that you can’t trade them in like used cars? Once you have a horse it’s your responsibility to take care of them and do what you can to give them a normal healthy happy life. It would be like me suggesting to them that they ditch their dog or cat for a newer model.
Anyway, fingers crossed that she doesn’t do anything else that’s
stupid …um, less than smart this week.
Until next time
