A Little Organization

A Little Organization

We’re trying to organize the tack room and, once again, my daughter, being the genius she is, has come up with a brilliant idea.  We have a few too many saddle pads and needed a place to put them that was easily accessible. In order not to put wet, sweaty, hairy, stinky saddle pads in the trunks, they would usually wind up laying on top of a tack trunk or draping over a saddle.  Everything looked messy and unorganized until she found this rack online at Schneider Saddlery.  We hung it in an out-of-the-way unused area of the tack room. This rack lets the saddle pads dry and they are neat and ready to go when we’re ready for them. I like the fact that the arms swing to the left or right so the pads slide on or off with ease.  The arms are also removable, so it can be dismantled easily.  We bolted this one to the wall, but it is designed to also be portable and can be hung over a stall wall from the hooks included with it.  We have another for wet blankets that we can hang over the wall of the wash stall.  If you’re interested in purchasing one, visit www.sstack.com.

I like the rack but I LOVE your tack room! Makes me want to get out and clean mine. Wait, that won't help. It needs a big overhaul!

Nice - our tack room is so small there's no room for one - sometimes I just hang saddle pads on stall doors - ugly but effective.

Great idea - love the tack room walls and floor!

I wish our tack room where we board had room for one like that! I'd even be willing to buy it...but alas, we have to find creative ways to let our dry which usually means they aren't.

I love the wood walls in your tack room too! Very beautiful.

A great idea. Looks to me like you have a pretty spectacular tack room. I have a big one but it sure doesn't look like that!

Great idea! We have one that is vertical, takes up less space and is equally effective...wish I could remember where we got it.

Very well done! I like that!

Very nice! Clever idea. But I'm really loving those gorgeous warm wood walls in your tack room.
My tack room just has exposed framework showing and is barely 8 feet long by 5 feet wide. But I'm grateful that I have someplace secure to store my tack and feed.

Awesome organization!! Love the pad rack, and I love that tack store!! I used to work down the road from them, that is where I bought my jumping saddle.

Nice tack room and a great rack, but I don't have room either. My wet pads end up draped over the door. But it's only me at the barn so it doesn't matter too much.

I am impressed with the racks and adore organization but where are the spider webs in that IMMACULATE tack room? The crumbs of wood shavings sprinkled all over the floor that defy the broom? The random shreds of hay stuck in the corners? Can I move in and live in your tack room?

deej,
i've got to tell everyone that just because i cleaned out one corner for the picture doesn't mean the whole tack room is clean. it's a gigantic mess that no one else can see but me.it really needs a good cleaning but i'll get to it.

Well, that one corner looks lovely. Nice warm wood in your tack room and the saddle pad rack is a great idea.

Like Nancy, I am a beginner rider and started taking lessons a year ago at 52 years of age. I love it. I am so glad I found this site. The BO where I board is currently looking for other options to hang blankets. This was one of the suggestions:

I will let her know about your solution.

Schneiders has so many good storage devices. I've bought a lot of good things from them and they are pretty dang reasonable. Beautiful tack room by the way...tiled floors...wow:-)!
